The January 2025 General Meeting will be held at Heathsville UMC. Genny Chase, a Master Flower Show judge, will demonstrate the design types that will be included in the CBGC’s flower show on May 17, 2025, at the Tavern Meeting Building in Heathsville, VA. Genny is a member of the Creative Floral Arrangers of the Americas, National Flower Arrangers, past president of the Kilmarnock Garden Club and the Piedmont District Flower Show Judges’ Council. Genny is also a Certified teacher of Ikebana, Japanese Flower Arranging in the Ikenobo School, and a member of Ikebana International and Ikebana of Richmond.

Members are invited to tour the Healthy Harvest Food Bank Aquaponics Facility led by Tammy Cole, Director of Operations for the Aquaponics Facility. Tammy will also discuss how the facility sustains itself will describe the impact of the produce produced on the community.

Sue Lindsey will present "The Romance That Soured Chemicals in the American Garden", a history of our attitudes to chemical use over the last century from the impact of Rachel Carson (“Silent Spring”) through the ideas of Doug Tallamy; a renewed appreciation of native plants; and an earth friendly approach to horticulture. Sue is a long-time member of the Northern Neck Master Gardeners and their Living Shoreline program.
